Sinhala And Tamil New Year 🌞🌼

 


The Sinhala And Tamil New Year, also known as "Aluth Awurudda" is a significant cultural celebration Sri Lanka. The new year downs on April 14th. The celebration begins with the "Nakatha" family members start the new year activities. They celebrate the new year by bursting firecrackers. 

Traditional foods like, " kiribath and sweets" are prepared. They play raban.  Games like, kotta pora , kanamuttiya bidima, Olida keliya, kamba Adeema and marathon are played. People wear traditional attire. Sinhalese visit temples and Tamils visit kovils,  engaging in religious ceremonies. It's a time for family reunions and strengthening bonds. Overall, Aluth Awurudda is a time for new beginnings and hsppiness.
